Amiruddin Malek, now 60, and two others were named in a complaint for rioting, unlawful assembly, arson and attempted murder, filed by inspector M D Chaudhary on Dec 7, 1992. The FIR alleged that the men were part of a mob that, in a reprisal for the demolition, attacked the telephone exchange in Bapunagar area, and assaulted passersby.
